Sustainability

For us, the key element of sustainability is transparency. We believe that consumers must be able to trust how a company operates and, above all, how it communicates its actions and goals across different areas of responsibility.

We always aim to provide as comprehensive information as possible about the products we sell: their origin, manufacturer, materials, and any certifications our partners may hold. Sufficient product information also helps reduce returns and unnecessary transportation of goods. We are especially happy that during our entire operation so far, we have only had one return!

We select the materials used in our products with environmental considerations in mind. We do not want to create disposable products, but instead prefer durable and/or recyclable materials that ensure a long product lifespan and, in many cases, reparability—especially in clothing.

We also evaluate manufacturers from a production perspective: is the supply chain ethically sustainable and transparent?

One of the biggest environmental impacts in e-commerce naturally comes from shipping parcels to customers. At the beginning of our operations, we reviewed several options and chose Posti. Our decision was influenced by the following factors:

• Finnish ownership: Posti employs a large number of people in Finland, ranking among the top employers in 2025.

• Posti is committed to an ambitious climate target: becoming a fully net-zero company by 2030.

• In 2022, Posti became the first logistics company in the world to have its net-zero target approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

• In 2021, EcoVadis awarded Posti the highest possible Platinum level in its sustainability rating.

We also value that Posti communicates its sustainability work openly and comprehensively.

We have also chosen our packaging materials with environmental factors in mind. We primarily reuse existing packaging, and some orders are shipped in previously used cardboard boxes, which the recipient can recycle again. The filling materials inside parcels—sometimes plastic—are also reused materials received with deliveries. We also aim to pack products as compactly as possible to avoid “shipping air.”

We prefer cardboard packaging because it is lightweight and easily recyclable. Our own National Parks Finland enamelware gift box has been designed and manufactured in Finland by a small family company Pakkauspojat.

As a family business, social responsibility is also important to us. We emphasize the domestic origin and responsible practices of our partners and aim to support small entrepreneurs whenever possible. We also cooperate with international companies when a specific product is not yet available from Finnish suppliers.
